FLAVOR


Watermelon is the “it” flavor of the season, and has popped up in many recent product launches like the Chick-Fil-A Watermelon Mint Lemonade, Starbucks Shaken Watermelon Passion Tea and Perrier watermelon flavored mineral water.


Prickly pear is having a moment, especially in the food service industry. The flavor has been used in products featured on menus at Starbucks, Panera, Taco Bell and Disneyland.


COFFEE AND TEA


Coconut has been popular in coffee this summer.

Cascara is gaining momentum. The tea, made from the dried skins of the coffee cherry, was featured in the Starbucks Nitro Cascara Cloud, Arabica Soda, and Goose Island’s Fulton & Wood Cascara Grisette

Rosé is the wine of summer. It even has its own holiday, National Rosé Day, in June, and a popular hashtag, #RoseAllDay. Frosés (Rosé slushies), Smitten Ice Cream Rosé, and Fruta Pop Rosé freeze pops are just a few summer products that incorporate Rosé.

#INSTAWORTHY

The New Order Coffee cereal milk latte, made using milk that cereal was steeped in, gained a lot of buzz this summer for its unique flavor and presentation.


There’s still a buzz around unicorn food and beverage. Recent launches include The Grounds of Alexandria Unicorn Soda and Pearl Butter, a colorful spread made with adaptogenic herbs.

Goth food and beverage has also taken over Instagram feeds, with products like the matte black latte and activated charcoal ice cream.
