For consumers, whether it’s Boomers reminiscing about malt shops, Gen X recalling bags of popcorn mixed with Whoppers at the movie theater, or Gen Z reflecting on Easter egg hunts for hidden treats filled with Brach’s Malted Milk Eggs, Chocolate Malt brings a sense of nostalgia. Chocolate Malt is found in confections, ice cream, milk, RTD cocktails, RTS alcohol, and even coffee. This year, Starbucks Asia launched Malty Delight Chocolate Latte and Omega Coffee Collective released Columbia Chocolate Malt Coffee. In 2023, Hilco introduced Girl Scout Thin Mints Milk Chocolate Malt Balls and Van Leeuwen debuted a limited-edition Malted Milkshake and Fries and Malted Cookie Dough Shake. Social conversations about Chocolate Malt flavor have increased 9% over the last year,and “Chocolate Malt” is trending 11% more than “Chocolate” alone.2
