FDA Changes to the Nutrition Facts Panel

The FDA announced changes to the nutrition facts panel in 2016 that would better highlight calories and serving size, sugar content, and important nutrient values. Food and beverage manufacturers with $10 million or more in sales originally had until mid-year 2018 to make the update, but that deadline has been extended to January 1, 2020. However, some companies have already started making the necessary changes.
