Regulatory Specialist

Summary of Position
The Regulatory Specialist will provide support to internal and external customers in order to ensure that all domestic and global regulatory compliance and labeling needs for our flavors are fulfilled according to legal and corporate guidelines. The ideal candidate is a detail oriented and highly organized individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high energy environment with changing priorities. 

Essential Job Duties
  • Generate, review and approve labels for finished products and flavors to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Lead documentation procurement, data entry activities and risk assessment for new and existing raw materials.
  • Develop Nutrition Facts Panels and Supplement Facts Panels.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with relevant domestic and global food regulations, including FDA, USDA, CFIA, EU regulations, etc.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the regulatory implications of proposed product changes or new ingredients.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support to Product Development and Flavor Creation teams during the formulation and launch of new products.
  • Assist in achieving and maintaining various certifications like Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, Halal, Gluten-Free, NSF Certified for Sports, etc.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams on relevant regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized regulatory documentation for all products, processes, and submissions to regulatory bodies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, food science, nutrition or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a regulatory role in the food industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with regulatory databases and software applications is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in TTB flavor filing
